The Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) has developed a Resource Toolkit to provide self-advocacy information and identify rights and strategies that support people to speak up for themselves.
The Toolkit aims to help people experiencing mental health issues to self-advocate for what they need under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The workbook "Self-Advocacy for the NDIS (Mental Health), was developed following a co-design process, in partnership with VMIAC and Tandem. It covers everything from applying for the NDIS, to plans, appeals and reviews.
You can read the co-designed workbook Self-advocacy for the NDIS (pdf) or an accessible Word version of the workbook.
